Despite the fact that there are more women than men living in New York City, just 14 of the 51 seats are held by women today… But that’s all set to change in January, when we’re expecting around 30 to be sworn-in. One organization, called 21 in ’21, endorsed 74 women across 37 districts.
In this episode Epicenter’s S. Mitra Kalita talks to Yvette Buckner and Amelia Adams of 21 in ‘21 about their efforts to help women gain representation – and how this will lead to more women in city-wide positions in the future.
